2005 Notre Dame bowl possibilities

While many of the bowls are shifting their alliances for 2006, here's a quick run down of the 2005-2006 bowl game tie-ins for Notre Dame football:

Notre Dame's bowl tie-ins for the 2005 season are as follows: -- Big East champion (or Notre Dame) goes to the Rose Bowl if ranked No.1 or No.2 in the BCS, otherwise to the Orange Bowl. -- Big East No.2 (or Notre Dame) goes to the Gator Bowl to play an ACC opponent. -- Big East No.3 (or Notre Dame) goes to the Insight Bowl to play a Pac-10 opponent. -- Big East No.4 (or Notre Dame) goes to the Meineke Car Care Bowl (formerly the Continental Tire Bowl) to play an ACC opponent.

Now, all this gets shuffled in 2006 (including an outside chance at a Cotton Bowl tie-in), but that's what's on the table for the Irish.
