Notre Dame fans to cheer on Michigan State

The Blue-Gray Sky points out the fallacy of Notre Dame's latest marketing plan - having Addidas pass out rally towels ahead of this week's Michigan State game.

Adidas is giving out 75,000 white towels on Saturday for Charlie Weis' charity, Hannah & Friends, and the official Notre Dame Web site, UND.com.

The towels, given out on a first-come, first-serve basis, will read "Tradition Never Graduates -- Notre Dame Football."

So... Irish fans are going to be wearing the green team shirt and waving white rally towels, against a team who's cheer is "Go Green! Go White!"???

Of course, the way the Irish are playing... maybe the Irish fans are ready to cheer for the Spartans??

ok so there is someone on the link to the original site who is praising weis for his "offensive genious" in making the MSU team think there is more of their fans in the stadium than there actually is??? personally i don't think that was the idea, more just bad planning. still i can't wait to hear what the announcers say about the green version of the "sea of red" game versus nebraska. which will probably only be heard in the first 30 seconds as after that myself and the rest of the country will probably change the channel to something else such as south carolina @ lsu, penn st @ mich, kentucky @ arkasas.... colorado st. @ houstan...LOL

Kev: Yea, it said 'Brand' and that was it. No copy to go with it. We turned it into a 'stealing signals' thread real quick, although there may have been something on there suggesting that.

    Where'd it go?

Michigan State university would like to welcome the Notre Dame football team and their loyal fans to the all new "Spartan stadium, south bend.

the Spartans have won their last five games in this stadium, and the Spartan flag was planted at mid-field, and the crowd will be sporting green and white, and after the first half, I expect the crowd to turn against Notre Dame...............Spartans 45-0

0-3 vs Big Ten Maybe ND should stay out of our conference.........it's weak enough already.

    GO SPARTANS
    GO MAIZE AND BLUE

    Welp --

Regardless of what Weatherford or Lee does in practice...There are a lot of really good players who practice crappy, but step up during a real game.

IMHO Weatherford has had enough "in-game" time to prove whether or not he is a gamer.... IMHO, he is not.

But what is really sad is watching Weatherford look so unnatural and uncomfortable on the field, like everything is happening much faster in his head than it is in real life. He looks a lot like Chris Rix, leading me to believe his time spent under the previous staff may have doomed him.

I've heard a lot of people (who again IMHO, know nothing about football) come out of the woodwork lately and say "a-ha... see Jeff Bowden wasn't the problem..." and I even think deep down inside Bobby may even feel a little vindication..

But make no mistake about it...What we are seeing now is the direct result of several 'down-years' in offensive recruiting caused by intelligent players (who are more than ever listening to scouts/agents) avoiding Jeffy and his defunct system.

I'd rather go 1-10 with a new OC (and staff), than 6-5 with Jeff Bowden (and his staff). I cheer harder knowing the future is not paved with mediocrity.

    Go Noles!

Question is not whether Notre Dame will win but will they score. No and yes.

I guess cheering for the Spartans didn't work.

BTW, M Go Blue (Post 8), fine win against Jo Pa and his lions. MI's defense came up big in that one.

The sad irony is that Notre Dame has become...

    ...the "Rudy" of college football...

    ...the little engine that could...

...you cringe at seeing them take a constant beating, completely outclassed on the field with their opponent, and you find yourself pulling for them, like one pulls for a special olympian...

...and ND Nation has taken to playing the roll to perfection: they now measure success in terms of "progress" and "effort" rather than such inconvenient and annoying minutia as...RESULTS.

Props to Notre Dame Nation for continuing to fill their stadium to capacity, and for your unrelenting support for Rudy...'er, your team, notwithstanding the inferior product...

Good luck Irish--y'all are going to need a boat load of it!

    GO GATORS!!

#18 - Zac, what can i say? I guess as long as we don't face a spread offense we will be just fine.

Can you believe the Michigan defense has not given up a TD in their last 8 quarters of play?????

    Let's go blue

    1966: Notre Dame 51 U.S.C. 0

I've been waiting my whole lifetime to avenge that catastrophic day. This is THE YEAR! My whole life has been going down hill ever since that day when I was a little boy and had to witness that humiliation. I think this is the year that things are going to start to look upward. It looks as though "the Irish" are on a crash course to suffer their worst defeat in Notre Dame history. Instead of the fabled "win one for the Gipper", it's now on going to be said, "lose one for Tommie". ALL HAIL TROY!

    Tommie Trojan

What are we to do with you, Tommy T? Since 1966 USC has won 4 (arguably more) NC's, not to mention having beaten ND on the way, and you're not happy??? Well, perhaps at seasons's end you will be. (Whether USC gets to the title game or not, you'll have to forgive me for pulling for my Mountaineers.)
