Sooners may platoon QBs
In Bob Stoops six years at the helm of Oklahoma championship machine, the Sooners have been set at QB with a clearly defined #1 each year. At least on the surface, it looks like season seven might throw a wrench into Stoops' well oiled schooner.
In fact, Stoops has previously said that he will alternate QBs this season if no one secures the #1 spot on the depth chart. The Sooners haven't rotated QBs since the mid-nineties, a period that OU fans would probably rather forget.
With QBs Paul Thompson and Rhett Bomar lacking significant game time, Stoops is counting on one of the two stepping out once practice resumes. If not, Stoops could go to a Spurrier-esque rotation for at least the first two to three games of the year.
