Beavers unveil new logo

The times they are a changin'... at least at Oregon State.

Gone are the days of stealing gay sheep. This is the new OSU and a new logo is on order, don't ya think?

(Note: Regardless of what you think, Oregon State thinks it needs a new logo & that's that, huh?!)

Oregon State aims to separate itself from the other OSUs -- Ohio State, Oklahoma State -- and from Oregon. From now on, the Beavers will be the only major college athletic program featuring an "OS" logo.

The new logo features an interlocking "O" and "S" in block lettering. While the football team will continue to wear helmets featuring the Beaver mascot for the time being, Nike is developing a new football uniform that will incorporate the new block logo.

In addition to the logo change, Oregon State has also standardized their "orange" and has retired all other block letter logos, including the popular block "O" in favor of the new design & color scheme.

    Forget the logo the first story is way better. I lived on a dairy farm and had a gay steer, we had him buthered.

    me thinks this is about making more money by having fans buy more mdse than it is about "distinguishing" itself.. I actually liked the block O that they used.. those hats were cool

    Well, they managed to separate themselves from the OSU's in college football... The interlocking O and S sure seem old school. Whatever tickles their fancy.

    Alas, the poor Beavers...red headed step children to the other Oregon school 40 minutes south.

    I thought the Mad Beaver logo was pretty cool, this thing looks like it was the runner up result of a local middle school art contest.

    OSU should go back to the original beaver of the past. Don't they know retro is in?

    As for the block O, it looks like too much of a copy of Ohio State. Oregon State is wise to do away with it.

    Hey, wait a minute. Wasn't this the same "Beaver Tale" that upset USC last year? Howz-about cutting them some slack. Besides, I begin my Masters degree with them, starting this fall.     yeah, I like Beaver also. Oh, I mean I liked the Beaver also. I think more colleges should find a way to add their mascot to the logo. I mean Hell I love to see a big ass turkey on the VT helmets yeahhhhhhhhhh!!!

    For the record, the Beaver logo is not going away. It will still be on the helmets and other gear. This is more of a lettering and font change. So the sonic hedgehog, angry rat, whatever you call it is staying.
