Oregon Unveils New Uniforms
The Oregon Ducks will (again) be sporting new uniforms for the upcoming season. The previous green & white color scheme will still be used, but the green uniform will now have just a single shade of green (code name "Thunder").
The new uniform will consist of a yellow jersey (code name "Lightning") which will be used as an alternate home jersey and as a second option when road opponents have a dark home jersey.
In addition to the three jerseys, the Ducks will have three different pants (white, green, and yellow).
Interestingly, the release information about the new uniforms says that players will also be (optionally) outfitted in a "patent-pending cooling vest" that Oregon says uses "compressed air pumped into the vest to decrease the body temperature of players." Huh?
New uniforms? On-board air conditioning? I guess this is going to sell some more tickets because, as Matt said, the Ducks certainly aren't going to be that good.

Maybe if the Ducks really tank this season they'll try painting the field yellow a la Boise State.

Pete, completely right. The yellow on yellow is terrible. Period. They used yellow as an alternate road basketball uniform this year and it looked bad for THAT...I can't imagine a football uniform that way. Personally, I thought that when Oregon debuted their previous uniforms that they were among the sharpest looking around. Thoughts?

Agreed... I really liked Oregon's "old" uniforms, thought the green over black with yellow highlights really looked good. The new yellow/yellow look ranks right up there with the worst uniforms in the league. Wow. Someone needs to call Martha Stewart.

Everyone needs to calm down. The ducks are winning in these "new ugly jerseys." Plus, I think they look sweet. Why is everyone criticizing something that is new. Over time I think they will catch on and all the bad-mouthers will eat their own words. Quack! Quack!

Oregon can win all the games it wants, but that has nothing to do with the Unis. Winning doesn't make them look any better, either.
I find it interesting that some teams spend time and money redesigning their uniforms when some of the most successful programs in history have had their uniforms since, essentially, the beginning of time.
Those who can, do. Those who can't, redesign their uniforms.

Anyone heard anything about Autzen's new football locker room.
Personalized A/C for each locker. Thumbprint security for each locker.
Three 60 inch plasma screens (two hooked up with X-box).
Now, which player is actually gonna want play football. I'd rather just sit at my locker, surfing the web on my own personal computer for each locker.
Why don't they just make each locker dorm-room sized so they can just live there?

Lightning Yellow uniforms are awesome and look great. If you negative commentators had a team with half as many wins as U of O over the past decade, maybe you would understand that you arent in Kansas anymore. We are in the 21st century. Catch up with the times or be left behind.

Half as many wins? I'll take that bait... let's look at some teams with MORE wins from 1992-2002 complete seasons. (Not that these will be hard to find)
1992 - 2002 W/L Records:
Nebraska: 118-22
Florida State: 116-20-1
Florida: 111-28-1
Tennessee: 108-28
Miami: 105-27
Kansas State: 103-31-1
Michigan: 101-31-3
Alabama: 93-41-1
Notre Dame: 89-41-2
Georgia: 88-42-1
Oregon: 87-45
Marshall: 65-13 (1997-2002)So there you have, in a non-comprehensive list, 10.5 schools that have MORE wins than Oregon... it would take a while to list the schools with at least half as many. I'd guess it'd be most of the NCAA since 44 wins is not a hard thing to do over that long a time period... hell, Kentucky has 48...
...so your point was what, exactly?
