Brian White to coach Hoyas?

Reports indicate that Brian White, former Wisconsin co-offensive coordinator and running back coach, has been offered the head coaching job at Georgetown. White previously coached at UNLV and Nevada and was a grad assistant at Fordham and Notre Dame.

Bob Benson resigned after 13 years as head coach of the Hoyas in December. He was 72-64 and won a MAAC title (the Hoyas were 39-13 from 1995-99 in the MAAC.) Georgetown has suffered through six straight losing seasons (1 as an independent and the last 5 as a member of the Patriot League.

Offensive coordinator Elliot Uzelac, who previously coached at Navy in the 1980s, was reportedly fired and another assistant left to go to Fordham. The school has ongoing construction of a new Multi-Sport Facility that will include a field for football and weight rooms and office space.

This would be HUGE for the Hoyas, but I would think that White could be in line for several oppty's if he plays his cards right over the next month or so.

The name of Kevin Kelly, assistant coach at Navy, has also now come up as a possibility for the GU job.
