JoPa barely scraping by?
Penn State has lost a five-year court battle and now must reveal... JoPa's salary?
Question - why on earth should the great people of Pennsylvania -- a state named for a man who faced a judge regarding non-disclosure -- have to foot the bill for a five-year court battle regarding the non-disclosure of Paterno's pay stubs?!
Paterno was paid $427,220 in the first 10 months of 2007 -- putting his year-end salary on track to be $512,664. He was paid $490,638 last year, according to the retirement system.
...
A 2006 comparison by USA Today showed that Big Ten coaches' salaries ranged from $231,000 at Purdue to $2.8 million at Iowa.
Wow. $500K for Paterno? And Nick Saban makes eight times that?! And you wondered why JoPa walked to work? The guy can hardly afford gas these days.
What this release does not show, of course, is what Paterno is receiving in endorsements and booster sponsorships, which likely brings his annual compensation closer to $2 million/year.

Kevin:
You should retract this blog.
That kinda' jack meant something back in the '50's--JoPa probably thinks he's making good money--if he reads this...the gig is up!
...must be why Penn State fought so hard to keep it concealed!
