JoPa passes Bowden on all-time wins list
On a day where early attention was focused on Penn State coach Joe Paterno's health, it was his legacy that was noted most often following the Nittany Lions win over Temple, moving JoPa past FSU's Bobby Bowden on the all-time win list.
With the 45-3 victory over the Owls and the Seminoles loss to Wake Forest, Paterno now owns the all-time win record outright. Paterno has 376 career victories. Bowden has 375.
FSU (2-1) has played one fewer game than Penn State (4-0) so far this year, so it's possible that the leapfrogging could continue throughout the season.
Ironically, Bowden passed Paterno five years ago when the Noles beat Wake Forest. FSU's loss to the Demon Deacons prevented Bowden from holding serve and staying even with Paterno.
