Rutgers' QB Hart Could Lose Loses Starting Job

Ryan Hart, Rutgers' all-time leading passer, has lost his starting job to redshirt freshman Mike Teel. Teel, a highly-touted recruit, saw the most extensive playing time of his brief career last week against West Virginia, throwing 15 times for 105 yards. Rutgers coach Greg Schiano has rotated three QBs this season - each with different abilities - but gave a tepid endorsement to Hart when asked if he was the starter for this week's game at Syracuse: "I'm not sure what the playing-time situation will be." Hart, who last year flirted with the national leaders in interceptions for a time, is not having his best year and is 12-20 as a starter.

Shiano is clearly out of line for sitting the all-time leading passer in Rutgers history. ANd he got shown up at UCONN by Ryan Hart who pretty much came in and saved the game (with a lot of help from Ray Rice). I don't care about the future. Theres a certain amount of respect a player like Ryan Hart deserves. Its his senior season. He has 11 TDs and 3 INTs so whoever said he wasn't having his best year is an idiot. Rutgers can win the Big East (still) with Hart taking snaps. No doubt Teel is a stud, but its Ryan Harts time, Mike Teel has 3 good years of football for the Knights.

there should be no decision on who start vs. navy. The fact that Shiano waited to see if Teel was healthy before he made the decesion is absolutely rediculous. Teel throws a couple interceptions and rutgers only scores 3 points in the first have. Then Hart comes in and throws 3 touchdown passes. Hart is the all time greatest passer at rutgers and Teel didn't even play well in the win against Syracus. Is Shiano retarded or is it just me?

I just read tonights sports headlines and found that Greg Shiano is toying with the idea of putting Mike Teel back in as QB this Saturday.

I can't believe he would be so foolish as to sit down the best QB I've ever seen at Rutgers .. especially last week! Hart passed great and had complete control of the team and game.
Come on Coach Shiano, now that you're finally winning, don't mess up with Teel, he will be your guy for the next several years, he can wait.
Don't let the political pressures get to you.

I never watched Rutgers years ago, then I started to root for the underdogs ... You have them winning now ... don't stop!
HART IS THE QB THIS YEAR!!!

please, please, dont sit ryan hart.this university needs this season to end on the right note. coach, you're not too far away from the prediction you made in a s.i. article. ----- bowl in 05. from what ive been able to see of hart, idylling here on the left coast, he deserves this chance to lead the team, and frankly, i'd like to see him seriously considered by the new york jets. he has the same qualities as chad pennington, and the jets need that.
