The SEC vs. The Big XII: Is there really a debate here?

So the Big XII had a barn burner of a year in 2008. Which reminds me, did we ever figure out how many abacus' it took to figure out that Oklahoma won the Big XII South Division? Or if any team in the conference plays defense better than the Washington Generals?

Some out there-from folks out here with us in the blogosphere to (if you believe everything you read on the internet) Texas Coach Mack Brown-would have you believe that they're a more complete conference than the reigning 800 pound gorilla with a chainsaw for a penis of college football, otherwise known as the SEC.

College Football News has a great piece on FBS Power Conference Superiority by Russ Mitchel up today.

He uses a really subjective, controversial, & fuzzy math-esque version of alchemy to arrive at an undeniable conclusion of SEC dominance: He uses wins & losses, BCS Wins, & Championships won. Otherwise known as facts.

What say you? Can anyone-other than Ben "College Football's Billy Beane" Prather-or Big XII homers argue with the facts Mitchell uses here to inform his opinion? I know I can't. Not that I wanted to argue with his opinion, anyway.

Hope you all enjoyed your Independence Day, & picked up your 5th on the 3rd for the 4th this past weekend.
