Tuberville to stay at Auburn

At a tear-filled press conference this afternoon, Auburn Head Coach Tommy Tuberville announced that he would stay as Auburn's head coach, despite the University's botched attempt to line up a replacement in the form of Louisville's Bobby Petrino.

Say what you want, but this is bad news for the Tigers. Down on the Plains it seems as though beating Alabama will right a typically disappointing Auburn season despite the fact that the Tigers wasted one of America's most talented squads on a 7-5 record. Tommy Tuberville has done an excellent job of keeping on the media's good side, but his attention to his own PR seems to take precedence over winning football games.

Tuberville has promised Auburn a National Championship but mark my words: they'll never have one so long as The Riverboat Gambler is walking the sidelines in a headset.
