39 year old trying to walk for 'Cocks

A 39-year old Gulf war veteran and father of six is trying to land a spot as a walk-on wide receiver for the Gamecocks. Tim Frisby has spent four weeks working out with the team, but didn't see any playing time during this weekend's spring game or the two previous scrimmages. Frisby's nickname at USC? "Pops." Looks like a long shot, seeing as how most of the USC players weren't born when Frisby graduated from high school.

    For more on Frisby read Matt Hayes article "Man Next Door" now posted on sporting news .com
    Frisby is a real athlete who is competing for a roster position. I think that he is far from a longshot and should make the roster.
