Kentucky sporting new football uniforms
The Wildcats will be updating their look for the 2004 college football season. In addition to the new uniforms, Kentucky will also wear a throwback uniform and throwback helmet for their October 2nd game against Ohio. The helmet is a 1960's design and the jersey is a potpourri of previous UK designs. And, as luck would have it, the Wildcats will also be selling replicas of their throwback jerseys to commemmorate the occassion (gee...imagine that!)

More images of the new Kentucky football uniforms are available online. Personally, I'm getting a little tired of Nike meeting with teams and coming up with a "distinctive look", because the look is only distinctive in so much as there are only about a couple dozen other schools with the same "distinctive" look. Yes, the KY uniforms look nice, I suppose, and yes, they say "KENTUCKY" on the front now. But, other than marketing, what the heck was wrong with the 'old' Kentucky uniforms? I thought they had a good look.
