New Uniforms & Helmets for Gamecocks

The South Carolina Gamecocks unveiled their new black helmets at media day yesterday. They also wore their new black jerseys (which were first seen at the Lou Holtz Ladies Clinic last weekend along with the garnet and white jerseys they will also wear - old helmets were on display as late as last weekend.)

The new helmets feature their traditional logo after some earlier designs were floating around the internet and other places showing a new interlocking USC logo (which is the logo found on the pants and sleeves of jerseys.) Holtz has removed names from the backs of the jerseys once again this year. The stripes from the shoulders have also been removed.

   It's a classic look and I dig it. Thank God not everyone is getting "Nike'd" out like Oregon, Miami, VT, and Syracuse. This is a great look for USC. They're going to need all the help they can get, as I don't see them beating Clemson.

   i think the uniform change is a good thing. it may show a NEW beginning for the cocks this year. we need to step it up in the secondary. defense can win and lose a ball game

   I think this all black is a good change. It brings us back in gamecock history to the "Black Magic". Well it doesnt really matter how we look beating clemson. I guess you can say we will look more beautiful doing it.
