S.C. Student Senate Refuses to hear 'To Hell with Georgia' Resolution
Student Senators at the University of South Carolina tried to bring up a resolution that would have funded the printing of lyrics of To Hell with Georgia and distribution to all students so that it could be played by the band and sung by students at the Gamecocks' home game against Georgia Bulldogs on September 11.
The rules committee voted not to allow the resolution on the floor at the meeting but that didn't stop the sponsor from trying to bring it up several times. A Student Government VP was quoted as saying the situation could be potentially embarassing and could backfire on national TV. Others questioned the funding source.
