Georgia to go back to a 2 QB rotation
A little quarterback controversy in Athens? Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt doesn't agree, although his actions will surely raise some eyebrows.
Richt insists that on one hand, he has the "ultimate confidence in David Greene", while on the other hand states that "(D.J.) Shockley is a heck of a football player, and he ought to play."
Somewhat conflicting statements from a team expected to contend for a national championship. So it looks like the Bulldogs will return to a similiar QB setup of two years ago, with two talented quarterbacks biding for playing time.
More from Richt
"I didn't want it to be perceived that we were in a panic mode," Richt said. "I've been around this quarterback thing long enough to know that if we had made a move in that game, it would have caused some problems we don't want to deal with. It's easier to put Shockley in the game when Greene is playing well." Richt was concerned that if he inserted Shockley into the South Carolina game, it would seem like he was benching starting quarterback David Greene .
