I'm very confused as to what Jeremy Harrell did to deserve the honor -- yes, 6 solo tackles and 3 assists is a lot... but no sacks or TFLs... I watched the game and didn't really notice him at all.

This is the reasoning given over on www.secsports.com.

    # Harrell tallied a team and career-high nine tackles (6 solos) in the Razorbacks' 27-10 win over Alabama.
    # Harrell helped an Arkansas defense that shut out the Crimson Tide in the second half. It was the second time in as many weeks that the Razorbacks have not allowed points in the second half. The Razorback defense has not given up any points in the fourth quarter this season.
    # For the season, he is tied for fourth among SEC defensive linemen with 5.0 tackles per game (15 total / missed UL-Monroe game).

I guess in order to say that those stats aren't worthy of the award I'd have to find someone with better stats... but that just doesn't seem like all that much.

    Thanks for the info.

The Harrell pick surprised me, too, because I don't really remember his name being called. Of course, the TV announcers were busy yukking it up about Guillon the entire game. Oh, well.

One impression I got was that Harrell has had a good season and this seemed more like a cumulative award. Of course, as Pete points out, who has the superior numbers from last week? I don't honestly know.
