Shanahan not interested

Ever since Steve Spurrier turned down the job last week, specualation has run rampant about who will be the next coach at the University of Florida.

Three years ago, Florida made a run at Denver head coach, Mike Shanahan. Shanahan has ties to the Gators, where he served as an assistant coach early in his career.

The AP reports that Shanahan has said "thanks, but no thanks" to the athletic director, Jeremey Foley.

``I have four years left on my contract here and when I signed that contract, I told them I was committed to staying here for the whole thing,'' said Shanahan, who is in his 10th year as Denver's coach. ``My name is not on Florida's list.''
