Vanderbilt finds way to lose to Kentucky

If it weren't so pathetic, it'd almost be funny the way the Vanderbilt Commodores find a way to lose in the fourth quarter. A few weeks ago, against Rutgers at home, the Commodores blew a double-digit fourth quarter lead. In their second SEC game of the season, the Commodores let the Ole Miss Rebels back into the game, giving them a win in overtime.

This week it was to, arguably, the worst team in the SEC--the Kentucky Wildcats. Yes, once again, the Commodores found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory Saturday as Kentucky stole a win 14-13.

As has been the story all year with Vanderbilt mistakes and lack of focus cost them the game. Vanderbilt had plenty of opportunities in the first half of the game with turnovers and field position, but could only turn it into seven points. In the second half, Vandy marched down to a touchdown on their first possession of the half and then failed to convert the extra point.

It was a mistake that came back to haunt them.

Kentucky inserted Shane Boyd into the game in the second half. Boyd led the Wildcats on two drives in the second half--one of 80 yards and the game winner of 36 yards to steal an SEC win on senior day for the Wildcats.
