A look ahead to Croom II

One of my favorite SEC blogs, Mississippi State Sports Blog, notes that no one involved with the Mississippi State football program (players or coaches!) has had a winning season in Starkville and gives a look at what it will take to resurrect the Bulldogs:

I think we're a Pro-style QB, a defensive and offensive line, 3 SEC-caliber WR's, and solid linebacker corp away from being a bowl team.

Oh, that's all, huh?

That's all, Kevin. There's no doubt Croom knows what we need, however selling it to the current players and potential recruits is another thing all together. I think another losing season will turn most Bulldog fans into serious hoops fans.

One key for resurrecting Mississippi State is how well Croom is able to recruit JuCo players. No doubt that Croom knows what it takes, but if he doesn't pick from some JuCo talent, it will be a three plus year rebuild. As you pointed out, I don't know if anyone in Starkville has that much patience left with this team.
