Not that Ole Miss doesn't deserve a good coach. It's just another school, just like Notre Dame, who's powerful boosters have a self-inflated sense of how big they should be, that doesn't match reality.
Ole Miss won the SEC West last year. And he had winning seasons for, what, five straight years? That should have given him quite a bit of leverage and patience from the Higher ups at Mississippi. Instead he got a pink slip.
Stay at Louisville Bobby. You could win it next year and get yourself that elusive BCS bid.

Now over the past two years, look at the coaching aquisitions:
Alabama: Shula (proving a lot of doubters wrong)
MS State: Croom (doing well with what he's got)
South Car: Spurrier
Florida: Urban Meyer
Ole Miss: PetrinoAdd that group to Saban, Richt, and Fulmer... goodness. If you thought there was parity in the SEC before... just wait.
I'm not sure if this is great or awful for the SEC. It's certainly not good for the member teams.
