Potential Tennessee violations reported by 'Bama

Even though the season is over, things are still heated between Alabama & Tennessee. When The Tennessean reported that the Vols took signees Demonte Bolden and Josh Briscoe to Dallas to participate in practice for the Cotton Bowl, 'Bama was quick to point out the potential violation to SEC & NCAA officials.

According to NCAA rules, late signees and "grayshirts" - players who paid their own tuition in the fall semester, did not play, but are slated to go on scholarship - are not eligible to practice for bowls off-campus (unless the bowl is in the same state).

No official word from the SEC on the potential "grayshirt" violation.

Didn't look like there was anything in there about Alabama reporting the violation... just that it had been reported. Could've been anyone, I bet.

Hell, could've been The Huntsville Times for that matter.

More: here's The Tennessean article that mentions the possible infraction.

    Michael,
Maybe a Bama fan sold a Whizzinator to Banks?

    Pete,

I don't really follow the SEC but didn't Tennessee report the violations that caused Alabama to go on probation. Maybe that is why they would have reported it
