South Carolina gets three years probation
The NCAA has finished reviewing six major and four minor violations against South Carolina and --for the most part-- agreed that USC's investigation was "thorough and complete."
The NCAA accepted most of the penalties the Gamecocks imposed on themselves, but added an additional year to the probation.
South Carolina will be subject to the following penalties:
"We are satisfied with the results," South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier said. "We appreciate the NCAA basically agreeing with our proposal. For the next couple of years, we will only have 83 players on scholarship."
All in all, I think South Carolina has to be pleased with this resolution. There had been some talk of substantial penalties and possibly some game forfeits. Losing a couple schollies & probation is something the Gamecocks can live with.

They are already strapped for talent, and have no hope of competting for the SEC much less the NCAA championship. SC will forever be on the bottom end of the SEC, and will continue to be the doormat of UF.
Go Gators!!!!
