Cocks raising ticket prices to buy a... cafeteria?

To hear Steve Spurruer tell it, the South Carolina football team has first-class weight rooms and meeting rooms, but won't they could really use is a cafeteria. So, the USC fans will be getting a ticket price increase this season to help pay for the new grub shack. No word yet on just how big of a price jump Gamecock fans should expect, but $10 per ticket has been floated in the papers.

"It’s called keeping up," Spurrier said. "We just need to be in line with the rest of the schools."

Well, that and perhaps a few other extras. AD Eric Hyman has also identified a new academic center as a need, as well as paying off the bonds on the univerisity's baseball stadium.

USC has to keep up with Clemson. Judging by the size of Brad Scott, their new cafeteria is a great place to eat.

They'll pay it - the folks in Columbia love that team a lot considering their yearly win percentage. Corso once called Carolina fans the 'Chicago Cubs' of College Football. It's true, believe me...

at least Clemson raises prices for good reasons...like adding on to the stadiam instead of making fans pay for a new cafiteria. Plus, i still dont see why so many USC fans even go to all their games. Espesally against Clemson. Did you know they sold out all their tickets in 99' when they went 0-11?

tuition is high enough, books are overpriced, enough to feel like being robbed, Fans should not have to pay more for athletes to eat better. We deserve a cut in price for being so faithful & patient.

Anybody know the date of the Clemson Carolina game between 1987 and 1989 that was in Columbia and Carolina won? I was on the front page of "The State" sports page and want to order the paper. Thanks

whats wrong with ya'll? the Roost is nearly 3/4s of a mile away from the main Cafe, UPHILL. you gotta catch two shuttles to get there. its a 20 minute walk. the roost does have its own cafeteria, but it sucks and its only open like 3 hours a day. as i lived at the roost for 2 years, i say 'PLEASE GET A NEW CAFE!'

    Hey, Clemson Tiger28

Sounds like a loyal fan base to me. What's more amazing than the fact they sold out season tix in '99 was the previous year they went 1-10. And then sold out again in 2000 after going 1-21 in two seasons.
