Gamecocks suspended 3 games
Earlier this week, South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier announced that wide receiver Noah Whiteside and safety Ty Erving will miss the first three games of the season for violating university policy. Spurrier also told reporters at his golf outing that the underlying cause of the suspension was academics and that Whiteside isn't eligible now but could be if "he passes everything at the end of the summer."
The Gamecocks open the season at Mississippi State then return home to face Georgia and Wofford.

Why is this news???It wouldn't matter if these 2 players were in the first 3 games or not.The outcome would still be the same.

Sept 9th South Carolina losses to Georgia

This is exactly what I am talking about. An SEC team has a negative situation occur and it takes until the end of the week to be posted, but when Miami and OU have negative situations occur they are posted immediately.
Is this site biased towards the SEC or are the people posting the SEC stories that behind in current news?

Another example of the SEC bloggers not keeping current:
A Tennessee freshman charged with drunken driving on campus was dismissed from the football team Wednesday, and another player arrested Sunday was suspended, coach Phillip Fulmer announced.
Lee Smith, a tight end, was arrested early Wednesday morning after a campus police officer saw him driving on the sidewalk. Smith had been attending summer school before beginning his first year on the team. Smith's father, Daryle Smith, was an offensive lineman at Tennessee and played in the NFL.

Tampa, you are right about Lee Smith.Word is that the vehicle he was driving was on the sidewalk for about 2 blocks near the dorms. He was smashed.Word is that he failed 4 field sobriety tests.Failing 1 is bad enough, but 4 sobriety tests!Word is that Smith said he was just turning around and ran up on the sidewalk, but campus police say it was more like him driving on the sidewalk for 2 blocks or so.I'm glad people weren't walking down the sidewalk while Smith was driving down the sidewalk you know.I guess officials thought it was enough that he was arrested and kicked off the team.Look,I'm all about SEC football, but when you are so trashed that you are driving down a sidewalk than you probably don't need to drink!Listen,we have all done stupid things in our past.I know I sure as hell have, but driving down a sidewalk. It is called a SIDEWALK.Not a DRIVEWALK.This guy would have been a problem for the next 3-4 years.Fulmer did the right thing cutting him loose.Drink and get your party on,but be safe.Don't be stupid. That's that.

Tampa here is another SEC story that broke and hasn't been posted by fanblogs yet:
Mark Richt suspended junior cornerback Thomas Flowers for two games
Why when it is something negative about Miami are the writers for fanblogs so quick to post it, but they don't for the SEC?!? I say this site is extremely biased against the great Miami Hurricanes!

mg, dont know if you were watching the same game as I was, but the final score last year was 17-15. Just try and see if your Dawgs can get a win without D.J. thowing the ball up, and what's more is your team is gonna have to do it with a hostile crowd.

Why is it that every time a college student does something stupid its news nowadays...If they get suspended and miss a few games so be it, but then make news out of the young guys replacing those players, don't blow it into something its not. What kid never does something that gets him into trouble? and this is stuff people get paid to report on?

So Cock fan...uhhh...what happened last week...
Seems like the Dawgs came in and took the hostility and the win from your crowd while puttting the big blank on your offense...
Still predicting that SEC East turn for USC?

Who cares whats posted first? These guys should stay out of trouble anyway. They are my buddies but I'm not gonna take up for them and say it shouldn't have been posted this week, at the beginning of the week or ASAP. Maybe these athletes need to do something good for a change and stay out of trouble and make that news like that! All this negativity shouldn't even be news.
