Syracuse unveils new "old" logo

Syracuse AD Dr. Daryl Gross is leaving his "mark" on SU athletics--while also harkening back to past traditions--by unveiling a new official primary athletic mark for the school.

The new logo, a large orange block "S" outlined in blue, is the latest in a long tradition of similar logos at Syracuse.

The current logo, the interlocking orange "SU", will continue to be seen as the university begins its transition to the new insignia.

Earlier this year, Fanblogs noted SU's new helmet design for the upcoming football season, which also has ties to past designs.

Syracuse just spent a fortune to redo the logo in May 2004, now they're doing it again?! Insane.

    Was Orangemen too offensive?

So will Syracuse give me back the money I spent on the new/old SU logo hat I bought last year?
