At least the Orange will look good losing

From the department of 'maybe this will help us win a few games' department, the Syracuse Orange will have new uniforms (yet again) this season. The 'cuse, which unveiled new uniforms in 2005 and new helmets in 2007, have decided to update both the helmets and the uniforms for 2008.

The updated helmet design adds a white outline to the Syracuse block "S" -- giving it a more defined look -- and adds a white center stripe to the helmet, marking a return to the classic front look.

As for the uniforms... they look awesome. The Orange have finally nailed the classic look, with block white letters outlined in orange against a navy jersey. The updated design keeps the classic shoulder stripes. The pants are classic orange, with blue-white-blue stripes down the leg. The overall look is outstanding.
