Virginia DC leading candidate at Temple

Virginia defensive coordinator Al Golden is now considered the front runner for the Temple football head job.

Sources to the Philadelphia Inquirer report that Golden could be announced next week and introduced at the December 10th basketball game.

With reports that Virginia OC Ron Prince is the leading candidate at Kansas State, one has to wonder just how big of an impact the loss of the offensive & defensive coordinators might be at UVa.

Well that kind of sucks. I was hoping the staff would stay together exactly as it is for the next 10 or 15 years...

      Hmm.
    • School is located in fourth-largest market with 33K full-time students and 250,000 LIVING alumni in the metro area.
    • School is academically strong and is the 6th largest educator of professionals in the United States and the 28th largest university overall.
    • Temple's Fox Business School is ranked No. 1 in the nation.
    • School plays in the best stadium in America.
    • 10,000 students now live on campus, a ten-fold increase in five years.
    • School built a brand new $10 million on-campus practice facility with a brand new sprinturf fields. Do you get the idea that the school might be sick of losing and about ready to win? I do.

I think Temple needs the right facilities and they could have a powerhouse of a program. Pennsylvania is one of the Top 5 producing football players in the US ecspecially the Southeast. You need the right people in place, the right facilities, the right conference and you will compete.
