Fulmer is very :-(

Tennessee football coach Phil Fulmer sent an email to the UT fans this week, expressing his disappointment with the Vols season.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the great support you give our team. Your passion and pride for our program is what makes us special!

This year was a disappointing season for everyone in the Tennessee family. We started this season with great expectations and failed to live up to those expectations. I assure you that no one is happy about our season - especially me, and I know that our fans deserve better than what we produced this year.

...

Props to Fullmer for hitting some of his criticism head on. The tinkering with the coaching staff needs to produce for him next season, though. I'm not sure Vols fans are going to be satisfied with another email next year.

I don't care what Fulmer does at Rocky Flop, Bama is still gonna Roll right over them next year.

I agree, props to Fulmer. I like his style - the Vols stunk it up this year and he has handled it about as well as can be expected from anyone. But you really think the Vol football machine is cutthroat enough to can him after one more similar year? Some of the Vols best days were with him, they even have a campus street named after him.......can't the vols take a clue from Penn St. and Paterno?

Too many people expect immediate results these days, despite Fulmer's great career at UT people will call for his head if things don't turn around next year.

Take our coach at A&M for example (although 4 years is more then enough time to see some sort of result with our budget & fanbase).

IMO it's the cotton bowl curse.

Despite Philbilly's coaching upgrades, Rocky Top will always be 2nd in the SEC. Spurrier will always out coach Fulmer. Rumor has it that Urban Myer is going to make Philbilly his _itch too...

Tennessee fans live in backwoods hollows and date their sisters. I doubt most know how to read, much less know who Joe Paterno os.

Phillip Fulmer should be upset. His team isnt gonna make a bowl game this year, which has turned many vol fans against him. But im sure that the vols will come back over the next few years. The loss of Gerald Riggs was a major blow. GO GATORS!!!!

Well I am going to start off asking why Col. Reb always finds himself in a Tennessee blog talking trash about how everyone from Tennessee are rednecks and they are inbred. What is your beef with Tennessee? Seriously, is it cuz year in and year out we are one of the best teams in the country and you finally caught a down year and you want to take advantage of it cuz it will be your only chance for another 16 years. Or is it because you are a fan of another SEC team that continually gets beat at the hands of the Vols. Or maybe it is because your self esteem is so low that you have to bash people you know nothing about to feel a little better about yourself. My guess is that you haven't been to Knoxville, or probably haven't visited Tennessee period. You just jump on the "everyone from Tennessee and the south are rednecks" band wagon. I don't guess it matters. Tennessee will be back next year. Cutcliffe and Phil will turn things around and we will be playing for the SEC championship again. Oh and as bad as those rednecks from Tennessee were this year, They lost to Florida because they made crucial turn overs, same as Georgia, and same at Alabama, and they beat LSU who also beat Auburn, Florida, and Bama. So if the ball bounces Tennessee's way a few more times they are SEC champion's this year. But it didn't so we'll see next year. As far as the Spurrier comments... anyone that isn't a South Carolina fan should be worried, not just Tennessee. He is going to beat way more than just Tenn. He beat everyone but Georgia and only lost by two to them. And well we seen what they did to LSU and they won the west. The SEC is the toughest conference in the country hands down and will be even tougher next year after Spurrier gets some recruits, Tenn is back, Urban and Les have more experience, Prothro is back, more experience on a two loss Auburn team, and Ole Miss gets some recruits. I think Orgeron is a good fit there. Watch out for the SEC next year.

Oh and I say that everyone from the South should tell Col. Reb how biased and rediculous he is!

I am begging all of you, especially Tennessee fans, to please learn to spell. Nothing propogates the stereotype of Southerners more than visiting a chat room discussing SEC Football. And ColReb, you are the stereotypical Ole Miss fan- living in the state that is hands down the armpit of the nation, insulating yourself in a world where there are two types of haircuts- male and female. And both are horribly out of date. Wearing a coat and tie to a football game when it is 97 degrees doesn't make you classy. So take a look at your cookie cutter "Southern Belle" wife (HA!) sitting beside you at the game with her cheap, overdone clown face makeup running down her face in the oppressive heat as the Rebels get drubbed by whoever pulled their team bus over in that shithole this week. And ask yourself this question- "Is the South really going to rise again"? As long as the young people continue to get their "education" at an institution as pathetic as the University of Mississippi, all signs point to NO. But you will always have the "coloreds" to feel better than, right?

You guys are getting close to what is really going on down their. From where i see, it looks like to me that Coach Fulmer has become to relax.Let's talk about what i mean. Most of the best coaches i have ever been with or seen take charge of matters when things are going bad in a game. I haven't seen Fulmer do that in a long time. Tennessee offense is so preditable when they get on the field teams know what they are going to do. Also how come Spurrier can train a nobody quarterback to become a great quarterback and we cannot even take great one and make him average?? Coaching!!!!Also, i am by no means a racial person but i can tell you that somewere in the coaching staff their is. I say this becuase when i was playing Running back i always was told that i could never play that postion cause i was white, and i was leading rusher Junior/Senior yr. So i ask you, why is their hardly any white guys being recruited?? I know they are out their cause Ohio state can find them or Notre Dame or Nebraska??? Our whole team is black except for the quarterback. Someone is partial to black guys down their. They think the same way as when i played. That only black guys can play football the best, and that my friends is racism. And finally you have to remember that players can be great, but if they don't have great coaching they are only average. If you have all the players to be a great team then it is the coaching that is bad, not the players...something to think about.
