Jim Bob Cooter arrested
Tennessee quarterback Jim Bob Cooter has been suspended indefinitely by Vols' head coach Philip Fulmer after the senior was arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence. Cooter will miss the Volunteers' first game against Cal on September 2 and will also have to attend an "alcohol evaluation" before he can return.
Cooter was arrested by campus police after they said they noticed his SUV cross a center line and drive on the wrong side of the road. He was charged with first offense DUI. His passenger was charged with underage consumption.
Fulmer's comments:
"Jim Bob has let the team down and embarrassed himself and his family by his actions," Fulmer said. "He has benefited greatly by being part of the Tennessee family, and with that comes great responsibility for his actions."[...]
"He did not behave in a responsible manner, and he understands very clearly that even though this is his first offense, there will be consequences," Fulmer said.

Tide, I doubt if Fulmer will use any valuable resources to get a QB buried in the depth chart out of a DUI. We'll take a page out of the Bama Book and use that money to buy a few new recruits.Of course he could ask for a favor from his old buddies he ratted you guys out to, hard to say. Give him credit, he's trying to get UT to the high standards set by the Bama program, it's just gonna take awhile.

That's beside the point though. I just like how a name like Jib Bob Cooter could ONLY come from Tennessee. I mean, John Parker Wilson...yeah...that's pretty southern, but not nearly as overtly redneck as Jim Bob Cooter. Why would you want to associate with that? It's like being a hippy and having the name Hyacinthe "Love" DeMaria...or something like that...It's just utterly pretentious.

Jim Bob was just helping his family over the summer and making a few bucks as the delivery boy for his parents micro-brewery. It was a heavy volume day and as southern hospitality goes it is customary for the delivery driver to share a toast with his customers to ensure that the corn whiskey is of the pureist kind. Cut the young man some slack!
