Red Raiders, Texas A&M game moving to Dallas
Texas Tech and Texas A&M are exploring options to move their annual game to a neutral site, perhaps Dallas' Texas Stadium or Cotton Bowl.
Red Raiders AD Gerald Meyers has said that this year's game in Lubbock won't be impacted, but he's open to the possibility of moving the game to Dallas or Houston.
While some fans are opposed to taking the money out of the Lubbock economy, Red Raider Club associate executive director Brad Walker points out that there are as many as 40,000 Tech alums in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, plus current Tech students living in the area, plus A&M alums and students. The financial guarantee numbers for such a well attended, neutral site game might make more sense for the university.
If the Aggies and Tech move their game to Dallas, they would join Big XII South mates Oklahoma & Texas who host their annual "Red River Shootout" in Dallas' Cotton Bowl.
