Red Raiders going with scarlet jerseys, scarlet pants
The Texas Tech football team is about to have a lot more red in their Red Raider get-ups, as the team is planning to wear scarlet jerseys and scarlet pants in at least a few home games this season. Tech has gone with mostly black/red schemes since the 70s, but the red/red look will hearken back to the Red Raider days of Danny Hardaway & Joe Matulich.
No photos yet, so we'll give Tech the benefit of the doubt that players won't look like Santa Claus. But, decked on in all scarlet, I suspect that -- frankly -- the players won't give a damn.

As an alum and diehard fan of Texas Tech, I must say that I don't think the red on red is a good idea. Bill is right, they will look like a high school team, also Iowa State has had that red on red look for quite awhile. I liked the uniforms from the past two seasons, I even bought a jersey last year. I guess they thought they looked too similar to Utah, but now Utah is changing their uni's. I wish they would at least keep the black pants. After all, our school colors are red AND black.

IMO single color uniforms make them look like high school teams
