I know one thing the Sooners have 11/11 marked down as "We will not let the score be close so the refs can win this game for TT." Should be a serious thumping for the Red Raiders.

Cry, Cry, Cry me a river. I don't like Tech in particular, but I will be pulling for them on 11/11. I still hear about that game from my Okie U co-workers, let it die. Not like the sooners have ever used "homecooking" to win games before, every team has. All the complaints and excusses are getting old, just be glad ya'll didn't play Baylor in Waco....

At least this year the media won't be crying about the Tech preseason games. TCU and UTEP, not bad.

I'll tell you what Jim.. The reason the Ou TT game was a big deal to OU fan's is that the refs screwed us even with instant replay. Ya you say every team has used homecooking.. i wont argue that. But they didnt have instant replay then either. Also the game cost us a cotton bowl, which meant more money for OU. So get your facts straight next time you make a loose statement that makes no sense

Lets be real sooner fan... I don't care how much extra money you got you did not want to play Alabama. Rhett Bomar would still be having nightmares to the day about that game. So it may have cost you some money but at least you still have your dignity.

    Tide,

As I recall the might tide only got past TT by a small margain. The only way TT can beat OU is to cheat. OU won that game. OU would also have beaten the tide in the cotton bowl. Playing in the cotton bowl is like our second home. Last I recall the last two times OU played the tide the tide came up short.

What about the old horny frogs GREG.... Im pretty sure the Tide could handle them. O and also UCLA how did that one turn out. The matchup would not have been good for OU against Alabama with an inexperienced QB is all im saying. But im sure ur close game against the DUCKS was plenty exciting for you.

If tech can win at A&M and beat Texas (with an inexperienced QB) then OU is all that stands in there way. No doubt OU will be gunning for them after the game this year. A Big 12 title is not out of the question.

Roll tide.... honestly i dont think it was techs offense it was you guys defense and if you only saw that game then i can see where you are coming from. I wanna give you a quote from Alabama graduate and former coach Jackie Sherrill. "Those Mountain West officials weren't going to call any pass interference. Those guys do that (callk games involving spread offenses) 24 hours a day out there. Alabama lucked out on that." He said it not me. And lets consider the numbers also from Techs offense to Bamas offense. Tech's D was nothign to brag about but they didnt have any prob holding Alabama to only 13 points. I am a fan of both schools and i dont know why you came in with a cheap shot like that but I think both Tech and Alabama will have good season next year.

"roll freakin tide" You are an excellent example of why Alabama narrowly beat out Arkansas for dead last in United States literacy. If I was a sooner I might complain about something that happened on the Kieth Brown touchdown play, but I am not.

TTU has a great shot of going 8-4, a favorable chance of going 10-2, and an outside chance at going 12-0. TTU will have its best offense in the Mike Leach Era. Graham Harrel has more talent than Cliff Kingsberry--a better arm with higher accuracy and better decision making skills. TTU has the best group of wide receivers in the country this year. The offensive line is loosing two big talents, but Ofa Mohetau and Louis Vasquez will easily fill the wholes. McKinner Dixon and the defensive line are above average in the Big 12. The biggest questions for TTU's program are in their safety and TE positions. Texas & Texas A&M lost their star QBs, TEs, and most talented defensive players. I don't see them being contenders for the Big 12 South. If Brett Bhomar and Adrian Peterson stay healthy, then the Big 12 better watch out. But OU has lost a lot of its coaching talent. Considering OUs remaining talent is pretty young, OU's ability to pull out a big season is still shakey. TTU lucked out with its Big 12 North schedule. Nebraska will be a big contender this year for the Big 12 Title. The reason TTU lost to Tide is because Cody Hodges did not have the guts to throw the ball into coverage. OU should not complain about Henderson's touchdown. The ruling on the field was questionable, but the video review did not showing indisputable evidence to the contrary. Using words that every one can understand, "Thems the rules. Deal with it."

Cody Hodges became scared to throw the ball. When Tech scored a touchdown on Alabama, it was because he had to throw it (he was crippled).

If Graham Harrel would have been the qb against OU and against Alabama, Tech would have won by marginal proportions. They wouldn't have lost to OSU, and they would have given UT, a game.

Harrel could contend for hiesman by his senior year if Tech can get the wins. It will be up to the defense, and he will break the career passing record.

Against Al., Tech's defense got the job done, but Hodges, couldn't lead the offense in the same way that Kingsbury and Symons could, and Sonny Cumbie toward the end of last year's season.

Harrell is the real deal, and everyone's gonna find out about it next year.

Sure, a freshman coming in and leading your team to a marginal victory, right. He didnt do much while he was in the game. You faced the best defense in the land, that was the problem. The mighty TT offense didnt put a touchdown on the board until the 4th quarter.

Let's keep this conversation civil & honest...I am a TTU alum and I was pumped about Tech making it to the Cotton Bowl. Bottom line is Tech didn't get it done - credit Shula and Co. for coming up with a great game plan. There is no doubt Tech had an inflated record last year. If any year proves to be a watershed, it's 2006 - TCU and UTEP will be hard outs on their home fields. The Big 12 scheudle is murder regardless of who you get from the North Division. Anyone who thinks Colorado is an easy game is smoking crack. Iowa State is where Tech was 5 years ago and will be dangerous. Missouri will be better than most people think now that overrated Brad Smith is gone. Anyone who has seen Harrell play (and I have) knows that Tech is a legitmate Big 12 contender the next two years. The only question is whether or not they can finally put it all together - this is the first time since the 70s that they have the talent and the coaching to pull off an undefeated season. If they fail to do so the next couple of years - watch the Leach supporters start to turn on him.

Well, anyone who saw Alabama's "demolishing" of Tech knows that Alabama's ONLY touchdown really wasn't. The receiver's knee was down when he caught the ball. Alabama's offense is NOTHING to brag about, that's for sure. Their defense and a favorable breeze won them that game.

As for next season, I hope Graham is as good as advertised. If so, it will be a very good year for Tech. OU would be the only team in their way next season if the defense can continue to improve; hey, they did hold Alabama's "juggernaut" offense to 13 points.

Alabama certainly didn't have a "juggernaut" offense in 2005. After WR Prothro was injured, they scored an average of 16 points in the last 7 games. This would have only been 11 points per game if you took out the Utah State game.

Alabama had a powerful defense, but their offense barely had a pulse.

TT has a chance to beat anybody they play. They wont, but there is that chance with Leach & Co.
OU will beat them but not thump them like they would like to. OU was screwed last year but... they should have put Tech away a lot earlier in that game. The play that stands out to me is the awarded first down, that one was BAD very bad.

I am not sure exactly where my fellow sooner brothers are coming from, but if you look close enough at last season, you should get a better picture. Tech when it was all said and done simply out hustled OU. That was the bottom Line. TT got thumped my the NATIONAL CHAMPS. No way Tech looses to OSU again even if they played ten more times last year. Not sure what happened to Leach and Co. on that one. And for you Alabama guys: One pretty good season and you think you should be worshipped. You were lucky to get past TT so do us all a favor and SHUT UP!!!!! Not to be disrespectful, but you were lucky to have such a powerful D because your O sucked. I would love to see TT and the Tide hook up again this season, but I am sure them Raiders are looking for better competition. Cause them boys in Crimson will not be so close to the top. Later Ya'll

Hey, give it to the Tide for holding TTU to one touchdown...no one else in america has done better than that in 4 years. To say that the QB Graham Harrel is a question mark is a pretty crazy idea for the simple fact that he's just next in line for 1 year QB's...except he's going to have time to develop in the game. He's as good if not better already than any of the previous QB's Tech has had (Kingsbury, Hodges, Symons, Cumbie) and will nothing but improve. The O-line will not be something Tech can ever brag about apparently, but that'll make graham even better in the future. It's a very fair assumption to see Tech in a BCS before Harrell is gone, and I'll be rather disappointed if they don't make one.

does anyone know if the Texas Tech vs. A&M game is moving to the cotton bowl next year or not? if so, i must say i'm extremely dissapointed in Tech for deciding to do that. Lets be honest, Tech is a great team, but the A&M "rivalry" isn't like the UT/OU rivalry and should be played anywhere but at the two schools home fields.

Facts about the Alabama/ Texas Tech game: Alabama had a great game plan, they had no offense, Hodges was hurt and banged up...the Bama recievers knee was down. It was a great game...'Bama didnt roll Tech up. Other tidbits: Texas Tech girls were WAY WAY hotter...'Bama dudes all had mullets and smelled of cheap whiskey and bad cologne. Any hot 'Bama Chicks left the game with Texas Tech Men. Don't whine about it all you 'Bama male bitches...you know its true.
Oh...and OU fans...quit whinining....if you were so much better it wouldnt have been that close. And it was a touchdown...and a first down...live with it...your program is headed south..and you know it.

    LOL TEXAS TECH GIRLS HOTTTER????

WTF even Auburn has insanely hot girls. Any SEC school (except maybe Tennessee) is crawling with hotties.

Like the old joke goes, what do you get when you cross an Auburn football player with a Tennessee cheerleader?

Nothing, there are some things even an Auburn football player wouldnt touch.

The Bama/T-Tech game was a great match up. It could of gone either way.
