Tulane punter critical after hunting accidents

Tulane all-conference punter Chris Beckman was hospitalized Sunday after suffering a gunshot wound while hunting. No details have been released on just how Beckman was shot, but hospital officials say the junior is in "critical but stable" condition.

Beckman, a candidate for the Ray Guy Award, is averaging 40.9 yards punting for the Green Wave.

    He was at target practice on Sunday, the team's day off
