Carroll, White play Halloween prank on Trojans
Apparently being the No. 1 team in the land hasn't made the Trojans Head Coach Pete Carroll uptight.
RB LenDale White and Carroll decided to have a little Halloween fun yesterday at USC's afternoon practice.
From the Daily Trojan
The prank started when White got into a yelling match with USC coach Pete Carroll and then offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.Kiffin, however, had no clue that it was all a ploy and really told White to leave practice. White told the coaches and players that he was mad and yelled that he didn't get enough carries.
"I tried to get my teammates to really believe it," he said. White then stormed off of the field and told a reporter that he quit the team and was carted away.
"When a Fox (Sports) guy asked me what's wrong, I said, 'I quit,'" White said. Practice then resumed as normal until the team's final meeting, when Carroll told players that they could win without White.
"I told them, 'We won with him and we can win without him,'" Carroll said. Then the players heard White yelling that he hated football from the top of a building.
"I had to duck down so they wouldn't see me," White said.
Then a dummy with a No. 21 jersey was thrown off the building and the team and media realized it was all a joke.

I think it was a pretty insensitive thing to do. I can't remember the last I've enjoyed a good ole suicide joke, that's because it is nothing to joke about. I have lost relatives and friends to suicide, I feel there should be an apology from Carroll. It just goes to show that Carroll and USC show a total lack of class.

Gotta say that it's borderline no-class to have a suicide prank. Put jello in their shoes or something, but to joke about suicide...that's just...wrong.

USC IS A JOKE. I mean, can you imagine an actual real football program doing something like this. Can you see Charlie Weis-Notre Dame or Mike Shula-Alabama or JOE PATERNO-Penn State or Bobby Bowden-Florida State or any program with class, history, discipline, and tradition do something like this!? NO.
Pete Carrol obviously shows that he is not in control of his team, nor does USC display discipline and espescially CLASS.
This goes along with Reggie Bush slowing down before he gets to the endzone and all these USC players getting arrested
BOTTOM LINE: THEY'RE ALL A BUNCH OF PUNKS WITH AN EASY A** SCHEDULE. ALABAMA'S DEFENSE WOULD ABSOLUTELY KILL REGGIE BUSH. LET FREDDIE ROACH LAY THE LUMBER TO HIM!!!taders24 said:

lighten up Bleed Crimson. I thought it was funny. What I read was that they faked his falling off the roof, not jumping to his death. But that's just what I read. And class? How many probations has USC seen lately? And Bama, how many have they seen lately? No discipline? Sorry, kid but to be 9-0, again, does not happen without control and discipline.
Maybe Bama would shut down Bush, maybe they wouldn't, but all we would need is a safety and that would cover the points you're PATHETIC offense would score.
I know it's apples and oranges but let's do some association here..... ND 41 UT 21. Bama 6 UT 3. Here's a better one Bama 24 Arkansas 13, with a tight 17-13 game until late. SC 70 same Arkansas team 17. Where it was 28-7 at the end of the 1st quarter and 42-14 at the half. Hell, even the second and third string threw up 28 in a half on them. Or how about those wonderful 3 points put on that STELLAR defense at MSU? ND put up 41 on a team you couldn't score any touchdowns against and we beat ND too. Or the stellar 13-10 whuppin you laid on that powerhouse Ole Miss? Let's just say Bama is lucky enough to hold SC to half it's season average...the score would still be 24.5 to zippo.
And the weak schedule? Where is the proof in that? I see SC has beaten 2 ranked opponents on the road while Bama has beaten one at home. Plain and simple a game between the two would not be close.deo in sin city said:

Alabama fan to Alabama fan, BC, I have to tell you this: you're being ridiculous.
Alabama would definitely hold anyone in the country below their average scoring performance, and likely well below it (esp. for PAC-10 teams who haven't seen a defense yet this year), but when your offense can only put three points on the board against Mississippi State, you're not likely to win games against top five teams.

I got a little bit carried away there.
I still think that USC and Alabama would be one of the greatest games ever.
Alabama's dominating defense vs. USC's dominating offense.
Alabama's not-so-good offense vs. USC's not-so-good-defense.And as for you, Pete Holiday, Alabama lost to a now #4 LSU team by three points in OT. We had many chances to win that game and on a good day we would've. Can't beat top 5 teams, gimme a break (alabama fan to alabama fan of course).

Using Taters24 calculations - I think that allowing for the weak USC defense the score might be: USC 38 Alabama 7. And that would only be because the starters sit down after 2 1/2 quarters. Yes, Alabama would probably pound one into the endzone against the 4th string freshman - but that's all they would get.
The reality is that USC is by far the number one defense in the PAC 10. Does that mean anything? I could fill you full of all of the stats that would show the incredible amounts of yardage and points put up in that conference - but, it wouldn't mean much to most of the dim wits who right in. There are some tremendous QB's, WR's and RB's in the PAC 10 right now. All have been stopped by USC (except Harrison had a pretty good game). Even SC's non conference opponents are all tremendous offensive teams: Hawaii, Notre Dame, Fresno State and Arkansas (they do run the ball). The people on defensive are going to be the best in the country. They are all mostly babies and are still takin' it to these high powered offenses. USC has won 43 of the last 44 games. Nobody in at least the last forty years has done that! I think that the only senior is Leinart. Most of these guys are sophmores and freshmen. There are even redshirt freshmen coming next year. I don't really think you people understand. Your all getting your butts kicked by one QB that was recruited five years ago in the weakest class to date. The last three recruiting classes have led the country overall. It's only going to get worse. This years class will be the greatest of them all. This really is no joke! You better hope that someone can beat SC this year, cause if they don't, it may never happen again.Tommie Trojan

I'm sorry, but to say that USC has a good defense is simply a matter of relativity. That defense is absolute kiddie stuff compared to a defense from miami, ohio state, or texas. We must compare good teams to good teams, not good teams to those other WORTHLESS PAC 10 WEAKLINGS.
BOTTOM LINE: TEXAS THRASHES USC IN THE ROSE BOWL because USC has MAYBE a FRACTIONALLY BETTER OFFENSE WITH REGGIE BUSH (Matt Lineart is terrible compared to other top QBs) WHILE TEXAS DEFENSE BLOWS USC OUT OF THE WATER. BIG TIME BABY!!!

"We're back-to-back national champions. You can't spell BCS without USC," White said.
Apparently, they aren't the spelling national champions. Way to go, USC English Department!
