Hokies sporting new football uniforms for 2008

From the too many college football uniform changes to count department... Virginia Tech will be sporting a new Nike uniform design this fall.

The new uniforms feature a unique side/sleeve color panel that will offset the jersey's base color, instead of the Nike "piping" design that VaTech has sported for the last few seasons. Both jerseys feature maroon as the dominant team color, with orange almost completely absent from the roadies.

I don't know if the Hokie faithful will care for the new home uniform, but I really, really, really like the roadie. The maroon accent on the slide/sleeve panel looks great.

And -- in an... interesting... twist -- Virginia Tech went the extra mile to show off the new uniforms to the roughly 500 women who attended the coach's ladies football clinic. After modeling the new uniforms, the players stripped down to their underwear... much to the delight of at least one half of Hokie Nation.
