WAC gets new logo, website

The Western Athletic Conference is turning over a new page. With new members, the WAC is getting a new logo and new website.

According to the announcement, the new logo is supposed to add emotion and energy to the brand (who makes this stuff up?!):

Through extensive research on the WAC brand, it was found there was considerable equity in the WAC, but that the graphical representation of the brand lacked emotion and energy. Over the course of several months, the WAC modified the logo to preserve the recognition of the WAC mark, while simultaneously adding motion and a more proactive feel.

New WAC logo:

And the new website is going to -- I presume -- continue to extend the energy and emotion of the WAC.

"The new website is just the first step in our new branding efforts," said WAC commissioner Karl Benson. "The website is a valuable tool in communicating with our fans and member institutions and this new site will be more effective and consistent in delivering our message and vision."

Here's a thought on the new website: You might want to take the references to the old teams off...I'm just sayin'.
